South Bend Tribune Opinion: Area good news travels far

A recent Tribune story heralded the good news that the Mercedes-Benz R-Class is in full production at the AM General plant in Mishawaka.

Just seven months ago, it was announced that the German-based car company would move its R-Class manufacturing from Tuscaloosa, Ala., to AM General’s commercial manufacturing plant in Mishawaka. The deal, which is expected to create more than 200 jobs, is viewed as a testament to AM General’s reputation and the quality of the area’s workforce.
