INDIANAPOLIS - An Indiana state senator who spent eight months in Afghanistan as a member of the Navy Reserve has resumed his legislative duties.

Republican Senator Jim Banks of Columbia City submitted his letter of reinstatement on Friday and says he's eager to get back to work.
