VALPARAISO, Ind. (AP) — Kids Alive International President Al Lackey often thinks about the young boy his agency helped rescue from being locked up in a 6 foot box where he was forced to eat, sleep and relieve himself
He also remembers the children rescued from being sold as sex slaves in their towns and relocated to safety with the assistance of his agency.
The Valparaiso-based nonprofit takes pride in its mission to save vulnerable children and create safe homes, schools and community programs worldwide. The agency builds schools and playgrounds, provides food and clothing, relocates families and rescues children from uncompromising situations.
