If elected, what will be your top priority?
As mayor of Evansville, I will focus on being a champion for all our neighborhoods by improving public safety, infrastructure, and quality of life, while expanding opportunities for economic development and focusing on talent retention. I know it takes principled leaders, not politicians, to provide a safer and stronger Evansville. The best way to lead our great city is with honesty, integrity, and a commitment to bring people together from all walks of life to develop solutions to our most pressing issues.
What is your favorite thing about the city?
As an Evansville native, I have experienced times of growth and opportunity as well as challenging periods for our city. Through both the ups and downs, the residents of Evansville are what makes our city so great. We are a city of compassionate, hardworking individuals that value collaboration and kindness. While it would be easy to point to the plethora of tourist attractions here in Evansville, at the end of the day, the people will always be my favorite thing.
Decribe your leadership style.
I believe different workplaces require different styles of leadership. While there are many foundational characteristics that can be used in any setting, like communication, collaboration, and innovation, in the role of mayor, servant leadership is a must. The servant leadership style is based on the idea that leaders prioritize the greater good or the health of the whole. In all of my leadership positions throughout the years, I have found taking this approach has proven to be the most beneficial for the organization and most rewarding for me personally.
